Parvaid can help animals overcome parvo!

Parvo is a viral disease found mainly in the intestinal tract and marrow of the bones. It has been around since the late 70’s and can be transmitted by direct contact, or indirectly by contact with vomit, diarrhea or any contaminated discharges from an infected dog. This virus can cause vomiting, diarrhea, lethargy, depression, dehydration, high fever and sudden death. Parvo is hard to kill and is shed in large numbers by infected dogs. Parvo is often fatal and strikes suddenly causing your pet to become extremely ill. The illness usually begins suddenly, and without treatment, the animal often dies within a few days. Dogs under 1 year of age are at risk and precautionary measures should be obtained.

Parvaid was developed in 1997 to help your animal overcome parvo. It has an 85% success rate and takes an average of 2 days before the animal begins eating on its own.

Parvaid has been known to help with other illnesses such as extreme vomiting, diarrhea, symptoms of corona, e-coli, and giardia.

Parvaid may be used as a preventative if the animal has been exposed. When parvo is introduced into the body, it will find its way into the glands of the animal and incubate. Eventually the virus will leave the gland and work its way into the intestinal tract where it will begin the process of eating away the lining, causing symptoms. The virus will also work its way into the marrow of the bone and attack the white blood cells, making the puppy susceptible to infections. This usually takes anywhere from 3 to 15 days. If Parvaid is introduced before the virus reaches the intestinal tract, nine times out of ten Parvaid will help the dog fight off the virus, making it look as if parvo never existed. If the animal has a weak immune system or the strain of the virus is one of the harder strains to fight off, then the preventative measures may not work entirely, however, the animal will not get as sick as he would have if not given Parvaid.

Treatment for canine parvovirus consists of giving fluids through a vein, antibiotics and medicine to treat symptoms. A sick animal must be isolated from other dogs. A vaccine is available, and Veterinarians recommend that all puppies be immunized and that dogs receive booster injections annually. We have found that a recently vaccinated puppy is likely to have more difficulties than one who is not. Once the puppy has been exposed to the parvovirus, one may not want to vaccinate.

The parvovirus is a group of extremely small viruses that affect humans, dogs, rodents, pigs, cattle, and other animals. Millions of particles can be found in one ounce of stool, and an animal needs only one thousand of those particles to be infected.

An antibiotic is necessary for the treatment of parvo (due to the lack of white blood cells the body is producing) to prevent secondary infections. Due to several changes in the market over the last few years with parvo and its imitators, we recommend giving Vibactra Plus (antibiotic), and Life Cell Support in addition to Parvaid.

Parvaid is made in an alcohol base in order to get the medicinal properties into the bloodstream quickly. With parvo there is not much time to treat the disease. Parvaid gets into the bloodstream within seconds and begins to help the dog overcome the disease.

Symptoms of parvo may include: Vomiting, diarrhea, depression, stools that may look yellow/green, clear with red streaks, or dark brown and runny. A high fever is generally accompanied.

Parvaid can also be used for:

  • Building the immune system (especially good for puppies who are weaning from their mother). In this situation, give Parvaid once a day.
  • Vomiting and diarrhea caused by changes in the environment and diet.
  • Easing travel discomfort.
  • Bloating.
  • Gas.
  • In some cases, bad breath.
  • Aiding in symptom of Giardia and Coccidia.

We have a Vaccination & Wormer Detox (or Life Cell Support being the same formula) for dogs who have been vaccinated or wormed within 14 days of illness. It has shown to increase the odds of survival. The Life Cell Support cleans the lymphatic system and can take 1 day from the illness, if given when no vaccine or wormer has been introduced into the body.

In addition to Parvaid, Vibactra Plus and Life Cell Support, it may be helpful to give vitamin C 4 times a day and vitamin B complex once a day until the dog is eating on his own.

Sugar stabilizers are also important to keep the puppy from crashing. We have an Oat Water and Beef Liver recipe found in our Self Help Guide (tea recipe section) to help keep the sugar levels stable.

If you notice all or most of these symptoms, it may be an indication the puppy may have more going on than the parvovirus:

  • Puppy has a light brown stool (like peanut butter).
  • Older dogs, nursing puppies, even humans coming down with stomach illnesses.
  • Little or no bowel movements.
  • Puppy is not improving while on Parvaid, Vibactra Plus and Life Cell Support.

Parvaid, Vibactra Plus, Life Cell Support and Adizone should help your puppy. If your puppy continues to worsen and you have gone through the steps in our Self Help Guide (located on our main page), call us.

Parvaid contains:

  • Peppermint Leaf - Calms upset stomachs and promotes appetite.
  • Spearmint Leaf - Calms upset stomachs and promotes appetite.
  • Chamomile Blossom - Used to prevent cramping and calm the nerves.
  • Plantain Leaf - Has antibiotic properties; soothes inflamed tissues in the intestinal tract.
  • Echinacea - Builds the immune system.
  • Oregon Grape - Is ann antimicrobial, which kills viral and bacterial infections in the blood stream.
  • Rose Hips - Helps combat stress and a source of vitamin C.
  • Yarrow - Used for hemorrhaging.
  • Garlic - A good source of sulfur which gives it antibiotic properties.
  • Hibiscus - Used for nausea.

Suggested Use:
General directions: Give orally 3 to 4 times daily.

Suggested use for Parvo: Give every 15 min. for first hour, then give orally with an electrolyte fluid every hour until animal is eating on its own and is able to hold down food for 6 hours. At that time give orally 4 times daily for 2 days to prevent a relapse. If puppy worsens, try an enema (instructions in the Self Help Guide found on our main page).

Suggested for preventative use: If your dog has been exposed to an infected dog, give Parvaid 4 times a day for 5 days. If there are other dogs that have had parvo on the premises recently, continue treating with Parvaid once a day for 6 weeks (the puppies will shed the virus for 6 weeks). Do a thorough clean then discontinue use.

If you bring your dog onto parvo-exposed property, wait 2 days. Then give Parvaid 4 times a day and Vibactra Plus 2 times a day for 5 days to help prevent your puppy from coming down with parvo.

Suggested Veterinarian use: Parvaid is given only four times a day (every 6 hours), while the dose is quadrupled to maintain the same total daily dose as prescribed for oral administration. This increase of dose at longer intervals is safe, as the continuous intravenous infusion of fluids assures hydration. In this regimen, fluids are not administered orally unless the veterinary staff uses oral fluids to dilute the taste of the oral regimen. The rationale for the dose change is to assure full treatment in the veterinary milieu. Balanced titration of IV fluid rate of infusion with that of oral fluid rate and volume of administration assures that the pup is not over-repleted or under-repleted with fluid. Over-infusion risks congestive heart failure. Co-administration of pharmaceutical antibiotics with our products is safe and synergistic. Typically, puppies on intravenous fluids under the care of a Veterinarian will be released to home with subcutaneous fluid injections (injection of pre-measured ampules of electrolyte solution for injection under the skin). Optimally, a gradual change-over from subcutaneous fluids is recommended. Subcutaneous fluid administration is vital to continue until clinical improvement includes ability to drink without emesis. Once this stage of recovery is attained, then we suggest prudent gradual weaning from subcutaneous fluid injections.
